Educators: NBCTs, teachers should be heard on Race to the Top

A teacher in Arizona's Gilbert Unified School District says the district's 90 National Board Certified Teachers should be consulted before officials move forward with school reforms needed to receive federal Race to the Top funds. Union leaders also asked the district to consult educators before changing teacher evaluations. "Race to the Top has many unanswered questions, and as professional educators, we would like to work with you," one teacher said at a recent meeting.
