FDA unveils Web-based services to boost agency transparency

The FDA on Tuesday launched a transparency initiative that will feature online videos offering information about the agency's efforts and Web-based forums allowing the public to pose questions to agency officials about the approval process for drugs and medical devices. Principal Deputy Commissioner Joshua Sharfstein chairs the initiative, which is part of the Obama administration's efforts to make the operations of federal agencies more accessible.
