North Dakota, tribe to sign extension of oil-and-gas tax deal

The Three Affiliated Tribes and North Dakota are about to renew an oil-and-gas tax and regulatory deal, tribes Chairman Marcus Levings said. The agreement, which was forged in 2008, cuts tax rates on exploration activities at the Fort Berthold Reservation and dictates the profit-sharing plan between the state and the tribe.
