Snowe urges FCC to clear existing spectrum first

Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, said in a letter to the FCC chief that the agency should "clear the table of outstanding spectrum-related items" before exploring other means of adding wireless bandwidth, such as taking digital frequencies from broadcast stations. Snowe asserted the FCC could quickly open proceedings that could locate up to 100 MHz of additional bandwidth.
