Stressed-out employees need more support to stay motivated

New York business owners Nancy Jackson of Architectural Systems and Elise Lelon of The You Business say they are changing their approaches to hiring and employee recognition in an effort to keep their recession-weary employees happy and motivated. Jackson's staff was angry when she hired a full-time salesperson after they had lived through a workforce reduction and salary cuts. "There's been a lot of emotional hand-holding here that we've never had to do before," she said.
