U.K. deploys M2M on bicycles to monitor pollution

Cambridge University scientists are using machine-to-machine technology -- and bicycles -- to keep an eye on pollution levels with help from Nokia and the carrier O2, according to a published account. In the project, bicycle riders are carrying cell phones that transmit data back to Cambridge research labs via customized software and wireless pollution sensors.
