Idaho schools chief proposes cutting teaching jobs, boosting technology

Idaho schools chief Tom Luna has proposed increasing class sizes and eliminating 770 teaching jobs to help pay for his plan to boost classroom technology use and require high-school students to take two online courses each year. Luna's plans also include linking student performance to teacher pay and eliminating tenure for new teachers.
