Software promises to boost power management in embedded GPUs

LucidLogix is introducing graphics processing unit virtualization software that it says could improve the performance of embedded GPUs, such as the power management of those processors, which may boost battery life in mobile devices. The company's XLR8 package is being applied to Fusion processors from Advanced Micro Devices, ARM's Mali, Intel's "Ivy Bridge" processors and Nvidia's Tegra.
