Calif. high-school students have access to new biotech course

As the professional field of biotechnology grows, high schools are stepping up to help prepare the next generation of scientists. For example, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education's Regional Occupation Program in California is offering its first-ever biotechnology class at a central location for the top science students from across the county. "I'm very interested in biology, specifically biotechnology," said senior Julius Solbes-Moran. "This class helps me decide if I want to go into this field."
