QR codes thriving in China

Mobile applications such as social media aggregator WeChat and a cultural disposition for mobile use over computers have made the QR code, which is already common in Japan and South Korea, a popular and effective means of marketing in China. Mobile coupon brand Imageco recorded more than 113 million scanned QR codes in China in October, a 38% increase from September.
