Researchers set large trial to test finding of statin-Parkinson's link

Researchers have decided to launch a large trial to test whether statins increase the risk of Parkinson's disease after a Phase I trial suggested there may a connection. A U.S. study tends to confirm previous suspicions of a link, by showing patients with low levels of LDL cholesterol are more than 3.5 times as likely to develop Parkinson's than those with higher levels.
