Countrywide sale could mean dip in Web ad spending

Google, Yahoo! and Microsoft could be hit by Bank of America's agreement to acquire ailing mortgage lender Countrywide, which spent many millions of dollars per month on advertising -- particularly on search advertising and on display-ad buys across networks run by the leading search players. Experts cited in this article believe that BofA will scale back Countrywide's online advertising budget.
