Device helps guide doctors during stent placement, study finds

Researchers at Radi Medical Systems, a unit of St. Jude Medical, have developed a device designed to help surgeons position artery-clearing stents. In tests involving more than 1,000 patients, only 13.2% of those whose doctors used the product required a follow-up operation, experienced a heart attack or died within a year after the procedure.
