Some AT&T customers not in tune with "American Idol" text promotion

AT&T Wireless is getting mixed reviews from customers to a text message plugging the season premiere of "American Idol," with some Twitter users complaining AT&T had crossed the line into spam territory. However, a spokesman for AT&T, which as a sponsor of "Idol" is the only mobile service through which viewers can vote via text message, said the message wasn't spam because it was free and future editions could be declined.
