Towns wants tighter Wall Street oversight, TARP accounting

Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., said he would make Wall Street oversight a top priority as he takes over as chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. Towns replaces Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif., who is stepping down to become chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Towns said one of his first actions would be to obtain a full accounting of how money under the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program was used.
