Social media's salad days are here

Dole Fresh Vegetables has announced a social-media campaign to promote its 32 varieties of bagged salads, running online contests and creating a Facebook hub focused on a spokesman known as the Dole Salad Guide. The company says its Facebook group membership has increased 2,000% in the past 60 days. Dole says it hopes the campaign will create a total of 1.7 billion media impressions.
