Analysis: Treasury secretary nominee lacks global experience

Outgoing Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner had extensive international experience. Before heading up the Treasury, he served as an undersecretary of international affairs there, as well as an International Monetary Fund official. Geithner's nominated replacement, Jack Lew, spent almost two years as a deputy at the State Department, but his main experience comes from heading the domestically focused Office of Management and Budget.
