Fla. lawmaker plans to conduct study on state's gambling industry

Florida state Sen. Garrett Richter, who heads the state Senate Gaming Committee, said he hopes to work with the legislature in the next three weeks to seek bids to conduct a review of all gambling issues in the state. Richter said the study would provide a basis for determining gambling's effects on the state before considering any legislative changes. "Armed with facts, you can have a more productive philosophical conversation," he said.
