Small businesses make plans to manage coming health care requirements

Small businesses are looking ahead to prepare for the employer-mandate provision in the federal health care law. Some firms are switching to high-deductible plans to limit the costs of providing insurance. But rates might drop once the mandate takes effect, according to Derrick Parks, who runs a security firm based in Lanham, Md. "Because health care will be a necessity that every company will have to provide, it should bring the cost of health care down tremendously," he said.
