Solvay, Bayer unit collaborate, use lessons to innovate elsewhere

Bayer MaterialScience and Solvay's work on the Solar Impulse aircraft has helped Solvay improve its offerings in plastics and lithium ion-polymer batteries, said Claude Michel, head of Solvay's Solar Impulse team. "Everything we are doing with Solar Impulse has high relevance to our most important sectors including automotive, electronics, and construction," said Martin Kreuter of Bayer MaterialScience.
