NCTA chief: "Open Internet" ruling doesn't mean big cable changes

A federal appeals court ruling overturning the Federal Communications Commission's "open Internet" rules, while granting the agency jurisdiction over regulating the Web, will have little effect on the daily operations of cable providers, according to Michael Powell, president of the National Cable and Telecommunications Association. "The cable industry has always made it clear that it does not -- and will not -- block our customer's ability to access lawful Internet content, applications or services," Powell said.
