Plunging temps send warm-weather luxury hotel sales up

Canyon Ranch in Arizona wasn't the only hotel that noticed an uptick in bookings as much of the nation experienced a deep freeze. Resorts throughout the South and Caribbean had higher-than-normal traffic. Travaasa Hana resort in Maui recently booked 40% more rooms than the same period last year, and Ladera Resort in St. Lucia saw sales of about $120,000 a day, up from $65,000 a day during this time last year.
