Sen. Murkowski: White House has enough authority to lift ban on crude exports

The Obama administration "retains enough statutory authority" to end the outdated policy that prevents exports of U.S. crude oil, said Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. The president can "declare it in the national interest to lift the ban," or the Department of Commerce can approve an application "if it can be demonstrated that those fuels 'cannot reasonably be marketed' here in the U.S.," she added.
