Canadian study: Use of laptops boosts writing skills

About 150 British Columbia students in grades 6 and 7 who used laptops for writing assignments last year showed gains of just over 30% on their English test scores. Teachers and parents say the devices foster positive attitudes and self-confidence in students, particularly among boys, who tend to be less motivated to write in longhand.
