Amid teacher shortage, Australian principals cancel, combine classes

Nearly half of all Australian secondary school principals have had to ask teachers to take on subjects outside their expertise, while one in five have had to recruit less-qualified teachers or remove classes from the curriculum entirely, according to an Australian Council for Educational Research poll.
