Mediterranean diet while pregnant reduces child allergy, asthma risk

A new study has found that children of mothers who followed the Mediterranean diet while pregnant -- consuming lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and whole grains -- were 45% less likely to develop allergies and 80% less likely to have the chronic wheezing associated with childhood asthma.
