Snowblowers hot item in cold weather

Despite the chilly economy, a series of intense December snowstorms across the country has spurred snowblower sales. And, although Ariens upped its production by 25%, demand has soared beyond that. "The economy hasn't affected sales at all," said Kevin Mifflin, president of Esch Power Equipment. "Money is not an object when people want to get out of their driveway." Meanwhile, Toro will resume production of snowblowers this week, even though sales usually taper off in January.
