CTIA: Wireless market does not need net neutrality rules

CTIA-The Wireless Association® filed comments Thursday in the FCC's net neutrality proceeding, detailing why proposed Internet regulation should not pertain to wireless. CTIA stated that regulatory uncertainty could have unintended consequences that would ultimately harm consumers and that there's no factual basis for applying rules to wireless. The association also asserted that wireless networks are inherently different than wireline, that FCC action would be a stark contrast to the actions taken by international agencies and that the FCC should strongly consider antitrust analysis, concluding that correcting market failures, rather than passing net neutrality rules for nonexistent harms, will best provide consumer benefits.
