Florida lawmakers shoot down Seminole gaming deal

Florida legislators have voted down a deal that would have raised millions of dollars for education by putting blackjack tables in seven casinos run by the Seminole Tribe. The compact, negotiated this past summer by Gov. Charlie Crist, came under fire after lawmakers complained that they had not been involved in the discussions.
