The hand gestures you use are just as important to conveying your message as your words, says a study by Colgate University. If the hand gestures and the words don't match, then listeners don't grasp the message as quickly or accurately. "If you really want to make your point clear and readily understood, let your words and hands do the talking," researchers say.
