Experts: Improving economy may be boosting workers' comp claims

The uptick in workers' compensation claims last year might be a result of factors associated with an improving economy, such as the addition of new employees as well as temporary and seasonal workers, according to industry experts. The severity and frequency of workers' comp claims is expected to increase amid the economic recovery, said Charles Martin of Marsh Risk Consulting.
