Former sales reps on trial in bone drug case

Three former Stryker Biotech sales executives are on trial for allegedly conspiring to defraud surgeons by suggesting they combine the company’s OP-1 and OP-1 bone putty with the bone filler Calstrux. The mixture was never tested or proven safe, and some patients suffered side effects and required further treatment, prosecutors say. But there is no proof the mixture caused the few adverse reactions reported, and the sales representative and managers did not deliberately defraud anyone, defense attorneys say.
