Computer-chip maker's new $2B N.Y. facility to create 5,000 jobs

GlobalFoundries, the Abu Dhabi-based computer-chip manufacturer, has released renderings of its new research and development center to be built in Malta, N.Y. Construction of the $2 billion, 500,000-square-foot facility will create about 5,000 construction jobs. The project is slated to start this spring.
