DOD rejects use of TWIC card at DOD facilities

The Defense Department says the Transportation Security Administration and Coast Guard's Transportation Worker Identification Credential program doesn't meet its standards and that TWIC cards will not be used for access to DOD systems. The Department of the Army issued a notice stating: "All current TWIC holders accessing an application within Electronic Transportation Acquisition will need to purchase an External Certificate Authority prior to Jan. 29, 2013."
