Mexican wind project gets $51M loan from development bank

A joint venture partly owned by Mexican retailer Organizacion Soriana secured a $51 million loan from the North American Development Bank to build a wind farm that is expected to provide electricity to 163 Organizacion Soriana stores. The 54-megawatt wind project in the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, will have 30 turbines and cost $130 million to build, said NADB spokesman Juan Antonio Flores. Work on the wind project is due to start in the first quarter of 2013.
