Okla. city names nearby police chief as manager

The Skiatook, Okla., City Council has appointed Owasso, Okla., Police Chief Dan Yancey as city manager. Yancey has been police chief in Owasso since 2003 and was Skiatook's police chief for 2½ years before that. "He has 20-plus years in municipal-government experience," Skiatook Mayor Josh Brown said. "You have to be proven, and he's been proven. He's led the Owasso Police Department, and that's a good department. We're excited."
