Siemens gets contract to build U.S. government's biggest wind farm

Siemens Government Technologies has secured a contract from the National Nuclear Security Administration to build the U.S. government's biggest wind farm. The $55 million wind farm, at the Pantex Plant nuclear facility in Texas, is expected to generate about 45 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually, saving the government up to $2.9 million in energy costs annually. Construction is set to start in December, with completion due in March 2014.
