3D modeling helps with complex concrete work at Canadian museum

Concrete work on the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg "was very challenging," according to Sean Barnes, vice president for PCL Construction. However, the use of three-dimensional modeling allowed PCL to complete concrete work nearly three months before its scheduled completion. "The virtual models provided us the ability to study complex shapes and to design and label formwork sections that allowed for maximum optimization and reuse," Barnes said.
