Chicago Sun-Times to trade bitcoins, tweets for content access

The Chicago Sun-Times will test alternative payment options for its subscription digital content, including a plan to accept bitcoin digital currency and user-generated tweets in exchange for access. The effort, which will be piloted on Feb. 1 for 24 hours with help from Bitwall, asks readers to donate their bitcoins to, or tweet about, The Taproot Foundation, in exchange for metered content.
