Golden Peanut buys into South African nut market

Golden Peanut, a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland, acquired an 80% stake in South African P-Farm Agente, a peanut processor, and a 50% stake in South African Pecans. The peanut business, which includes a bulk warehouse and a shelling facility that processes 20,000 metric tons of peanuts annually, will operate under the name Golden Peanut and Tree Nut. The pecan company will operate under the name GPC Pecan.
