Groupon tries on a new business model with apparel acquisition

Groupon's $43 million purchase of clothing flash sales site ideeli is the latest example of the deal-selling brand evolving beyond its e-mail-offer business model. The ideeli acquisition is part of Groupon's big bet on mobile, and it puts the company in direct competition with Rue La La, Gilt and other clothing-deal retailers.
