Lidar reveals New England's agricultural past

Two geographers from the University of Connecticut have used a laser-based technology known as lidar to study New England's agrarian history. Today, many parts of the region have been reclaimed by forests. However, the research, which will appear in the Journal of Archaeological Science, provides a glimpse into what the landscape looked like hundreds of years ago.
