N.C. State to head up research consortium

North Carolina State University will lead a $140 million national research consortium made up of five universities and 18 companies to invent, design and manufacture products using new technologies. President Barack Obama announced the consortium Wednesday. Participants include companies in 10 states as well as universities in Arkansas, California, Florida and Virginia.
