GE, FDA reach agreement on X-ray systems

The FDA and General Electric Co.'s health care unit have reached an agreement -- subject to court approval -- that stops the production and distribution of some X-ray devices made by the company's OEC Medical Systems unit in Lawrence, Mass., and Salt Lake City until manufacturing problems have been addressed. GE said it "continues to work aggressively to address and resolve the issues identified as quickly as possible."
