Analyst sees cruise prices rising this year

A weakening U.S. economy should not hold back cruise prices for 2008, according to one industry analyst. A strategy for market leaders such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL has been to boost their higher-demand European itineraries and minimize deployment to receding markets such as the Caribbean, noted UBS analyst Robin Farley.
