Stimulus bill aids airports, ignores NextGen

An $825 billion stimulus plan introduced by congressional Democrats on Thursday includes $3 billion for airport infrastructure improvements and $500 million for new explosive detection systems designed to speed the baggage screening process. Apparently missing from the proposal thus far is any funding for the NextGen air traffic control system.
