Twitter scoops MSM on dramatic water landing

While the water landing of a US Airways jet in New York's Hudson River continues to make headlines, it was news on Twitter well before the first camera crews arrived. Hans Kullin catalogs the citizen reporting that informed much of the reports early on, including a picture Tweeted by Janis Krums that has been looked at more than 90,000 times. A few traditional media organizations used social media tools, including Twitter, to report events as they broke.
