Candy, snacks to be banned in Ontario, Canada, schools

The sale of candy and other snacks will be banned from school property in Ontario, Canada, beginning in fall 2011 as part of an effort to curb childhood obesity. While schools will have up to 10 exempted days each year, educators are concerned about the effect the rules will have on student fundraising, which often relies on the sale of baked goods and pizza.
