Small businesses are slow to embrace social media

One in 5 small businesses in Australia are using social media, according to a Reckon small-business survey, while another 13% say they plan to start using social tools during 2012. That leaves plenty of space for socially savvy SMBs to get an edge over their rivals, writes Gerald Chait. "[B]efore writing social media off I do think businesses need to change their mindset to evaluate the benefits properly," he writes.
