Asian-Pacific stock markets fell Monday after Standard & Poor's downgraded credit ratings of nine eurozone countries. Japan's Nikkei 225 lost 1.4%, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 declined 1.2% and South Korea's Kospi slid 0.9%. China's Shanghai Composite gave up 1.7%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dropped 1% and Taiwan's Taiex shed 1.1%. India's Sensex was down 0.2% shortly after midday.
